A lot of attention is paid to the more popular models on the market, but many people aren't aware of the models that sell extremely poorly. Autoblog recently compiled its list of the 10 worst-selling vehicles for 2011, and it seems like more than a few of them are in dire straits.
Honda's luxury brand, Acura, has long lagged behind Lexus and the German automakers, but it appears some models are in a bad need of a redesign. Specifically, the Acura RL, which was the worst-selling car in the country. Only 1,096 RLs were sold last year. In addition, Acura had the fourth-worst car on the list as well, the Acura ZDX, which fared a little better with 1,564 models.
To put that number in perspective, the electric Chevrolet Volt was criticized for missing its sales targets this year - but even that limited appeal car managed 1,500 units solely in the month of December.
Other models making the list included the Hyundai Azera, Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback, Cadillac Escalade EXT, Toyota Land Cruiser and Mazda Tribute.
Even if your car isn't the most popular on the road, that's no reason to treat it poorly. Routine auto maintenance can help drivers ensure that their car stays around longer, and may also help spot auto repairs before they become major issues.
