For years, the SRT Viper has been an eye-catching vehicle, thanks in large part to the intense colors that adorn the exterior of the sports car. The 2014 version of the automobile aims to do the same, especially since it's offered in a bright blue hue that is certain to grab the attention of other drivers. However, the brand hasn't named the color yet, and it enlisted the help of fans to do just that.
More than 11,000 potential color names were submitted from fans of the vehicle, but Viper managed to narrow down the list to a final three: Competition Blue, Overtaking Blue and Viral Blue. Those are all apt names for the distinct shade, and although the unique color may make small auto repair difficult, many motorists will certainly think it is worth the potential cost.
"The SRT Viper Color Contest is a great opportunity for SRT brand enthusiasts to be creative, original and become part of Viper history, and what better place to see history in the making than the annual SEMA show," said Ralph Gilles, president of the SRT brand at the Chrysler Group. "We know just how passionate our fans can be, and this is the perfect event to showcase their creations and see their ideas come to life."
SRT will announce the winning name Nov. 12. The fan who submitted the top idea will be rewarded with a trip to 2014 Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona.
