Recalls remind drivers to keep an eye out for problems

Motor Trend has reported that a number of popular models have been recalled for repairs. Drivers who own these models should start the new year off on the right foot by taking their car in for service ASAP.

The 2009 Dodge Journey needs a new driver and passenger door wiring harness. Over time, the harness can deteriorate, which can disable side airbags - crucial in the event of an accident as they can prevent injury.

Over at Ford, a faulty body control module that assists with a vehicle's electronics system, was found on the 2011 Ford Edge F-150 through F-550 and the Lincoln MKX. This problem is serious as a shortage in the system could start a fire.

The 2011 Ram 1500 has a rear axle problem - it's at a risk of overheating, says Motor Trend. How to solve it? Add 20 ounces of lube fill and your truck should be running just fine.

Lastly, the 2008-2011 Ram 4500 and 5500 could lose their steering if the driver's side ball stud on the tie rod fractures (which it could).

These problems range from minuscule to outright dangerous, so before 2011 begins, get your car fixed at a body shop for a good price and excellent service.
