Drivers who are considering shopping for a new car shouldn't wait much longer. According to Edmunds.com, the weeks around the end of August and beginning of September are the best for buyers who are looking for great value and selection.
The end of summer and beginning of fall is ideal for shoppers thanks to the number of new 2014 models being introduced to the market. To make room for these vehicles, dealers will often offer incentives or lower prices on 2013 model cars. Edmunds.com predicts that some of the best deals can be found with automobiles like the Cadillac CTS coupe, Fiat 500 C, Honda Odyssey and Subaru Outback.
Although this time of year is generally the best for buyers, there will still be a difference in the shopping experience depending on what type of features they want in a car.
"Shoppers typically will find the perfect blend of discounts and selection during this late-August to September time period," said Jessica Caldwell, a senior analyst for Edmunds.com. "If they wait much longer, they might be able to find better discounts on a new car, but they'll find that inventory of those vehicles will be limited."
Even new cars will need to be tended to with scheduled maintenance. Shortly after purchasing a new ride, drivers should take it to an auto repair franchise for a tune up and to make sure they aren't unknowingly causing damage to the car.
