Nissan has announced that it will sponsor more "ThinkFast" events put on at local high schools by the Tennessee Governor's Highway Safety Office (GHSO), in an effort to reach teen drivers about the dangers of drunk and distracted driving.
ThinkFast is a program designed to spread awareness about staying safe on the road. The lecture has a fun game show format, engaging teenagers by having them answer questions about movies, music, and the dangers of distracted driving.
Thanks to Nissan's sponsorship, the number of ThinkFast events that can be held this year will more than triple, rising from 35 school districts to 110.
"Our ultimate goal is to greatly reduce, and perhaps even eliminate, motor vehicle deaths throughout Tennessee," said Kendell Poole, director of the GHSO. "Thanks to Nissan North America's commitment to safety education, we've significantly increased our existing efforts. We're excited to partner with a company that is equally passionate about the safety of our youth."
Parents with teen drivers may also want to educate their kids about keeping up with scheduled maintenance, as this is important to ensuring that a vehicle is safe and in top condition. Regular maintenance can also highlight any auto repairs that may need to be taken care of.
