The BMW 3 Series is one of the best-selling luxury cars on the market and the undisputed king of "entry level" high-end vehicles. However, that doesn't mean other automakers are just rolling over and dying - several new models are on the way that hope to challenge the 3 Series, reports USA Today.
With more drivers wanting to own a luxury model but not wanting to pay the price, a slew of new vehicles under $35,000 are on the way. Perhaps the most promising is the Cadillac ATS, which looks to go head-to-head with the 3 Series. Priced at $34,000, Cadillac has already run commercials showing the ATS beating the 3 Series at the famed Nurburgring track in Germany.
BMW's German competitors also have plans. The current C-Class and A4 combined just barely match the 3 Series in sales, so Mercedes and Audi are opting to change their strategy a bit. Mercedes is planning to debut the A- and B-Class, two smaller luxury vehicles that will be affordable and have no real direct competitors on the market. Meanwhile, Audi hopes that its upcoming A3 sedan will be able to steal at least some attention from the 3 Series.
If you buy a luxury vehicle, its important to take care of your investment through auto maintenance. Regular tune-ups and oil changes can help keep your high-end car running right.
