Many automotive analysts named their best cars of the year a few weeks ago, but those at the television show MotorWeek took a bit longer with their deliberations. After assessing hundreds of new cars in a wide variety of categories, the show settled on the Ford Mustang Boss 302.

Available as a limited edition version of the current Mustang, the Boss 302 is a throwback to the vintage era of pony cars while providing all the power and performance that a modern engine can deliver. The Mustang is already a formidable sports car, but the Boss 302 package ups the ante to a whopping 444 horsepower. It also includes track-ready components, such as an overhauled suspension system, so that serious drivers can take advantage of all that power.

"We here at MotorWeek were left almost speechless that this rear-drive American muscle car is so extremely refined and works so seamlessly with the driver," said MotorWeek host and executive producer John Davis. "The Mustang Boss 302 is the best example this year of a car where all aspects of engineering come together. As a total package, the Mustang Boss 302 is just an outstanding ride."

Whether you've got a brand new Boss in your garage or the same car you've been driving for years, it's important to keep up with auto maintenance if you want to ensure it's in tip-top condition. Regular tune-ups and oil changes can help keep the performance levels high and prevent major repairs from becoming an issue in the future.
