Forbes came up with the 2012 LEAP Brand Index in order to measure just how much consumers love their machines, and some of the top brands were found within the auto industry.
LEAP, which stands for Leveraging Emotional Attachment for Profit, looks at how a buyer's feelings about a product influence their purchasing patterns. Apple products claimed three of the top five spots, including the top two, with the Disney Parks coming in fourth. Several auto manufacturers laid claim to top spots with Infiniti coming in third.
This high ranking may seem like a surprise to some, but it is important to remember that technology is significant in the LEAP Index. AutoBlog reports that Infiniti has special features like the around-view monitor and real-time traffic and weather updates.
Cadillac was the only other car brand to make the top 10, where it came in sixth. BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz and Land Rover were 13th through 16th, respectively. Cadillac's rollout of new, CUE-equipped models may affect future rankings, but any changes in the car world are tough to predict. Until the next ranking comes out, it looks like more Infiniti owners will be giving their vehicles a tune up and attempting to keep them in perfect running condition.
