The Honda Civic may be the best-selling compact car in the U.S., but that doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement. Honda's latest effort consists of targeting younger drivers, and to do so the manufacturer has turned to actor and performer Nick Cannon.
Cannon will be the star of the new "Best Yourself" campaign, which aims to celebrate diversity and encourage individuals to get on their own unique path to success. At the center of the effort are several videos that highlight people working toward their personal goals, blended with footage of the television host driving a 2013 Honda Civic. One of the ads is already on YouTube, but another will air during "America's Got Talent" Aug. 11.
"In the entertainment business, much like the auto industry, there is always pressure to adopt the latest trends," Cannon said. "I've built my career by staying true to myself and my personal beliefs, and it's the same commitment that I saw in Honda and their development of the 2013 Civic that drew me to this project."
According to Media Post, this new campaign highlights on the vintage culture of Honda, but it should not interfere with the automaker's modern focus on technology and advancement. With easy vehicle maintenance, solid fuel economy and plenty of safety features, the 2013 Civic is among the top sedans on the market.
