Kelley Blue Book has named the 2013 Ford Fusion as the best redesigned vehicle of the year. The contest awards the automobile that has undergone the best car repair to improve its quality compared to its predecessors and competitors.
Experts judged the Fusion along with more than 20 other models, but Ford's redone version stole the show as the best of the lot, partly due to its choice of five engines and its combination of interior and exterior appeal.
"Outside, the new Fusion is clearly the hottest-looking car in a class with no fewer than 13 other entrants," said Jack R. Nerad, executive editorial director for Kelley Blue Book. "The interior is just as striking, and a variety of technological enhancements and choice of five powertrains is just icing on the cake. Whatever mix of value, power and fuel efficiency you're looking for in a mid-size sedan, the new Fusion has it."
The Fusion is also up for a number of other awards, including 2013 North American Car of the Year, according to Inside Line. It is up against the Cadillac ATS and Honda Accord, with the winner set to be announced at the Detroit Auto Show on January 14.
