Cash Cab host takes pride in American-made cars

While the cab driven by Ben Bailey in the hit reality TV game show "Cash Cab" may be a Toyota Sienna, Bailey is an American car man through and through. Motor Trend reports that his grandfather was once a General Motors vice president and his father worked for GM as well. So it's no surprise that the Emmy award-winning game show host still feels some loyalty toward the brand and is trying to get the show to use a GM vehicle instead of a foreign car.

"I haven't gotten anywhere yet," Bailey told the news source. "I'd rather talk to someone right at General Motors and say, 'Look, it's a win-win situation. Let's build a GM Cash Cab. It's great publicity for us, it's great publicity for you. Let's just do it.'"

Perhaps the next time the Sienna breaks down, the show's producers will decide to forgo the car maintenance and brake repairs and trade the Japanese minivan in for a GM SUV.

Not only is Bailey pushing to use American cars in his show, but he also drives one of his own. The comedian-turned-TV personality told Motor Trend that his 2008 Chevy Tahoe is "a great, great, great truck." However, he also said that his lease is almost up and he might opt for something smaller and more fuel-efficient.
