With football season in full swing, stadium parking lots across the nation are filled with tailgating parties. These pre-game parking lot festivities all have one thing in common: they center around the vehicle. Cars.com fully embraces this and has picked out the top tailgating cars of the year. The website chose vehicles that came out of the factory ready for the big pre-game get-together, with no car tune up necessary to make the tailgating experience all it can be.
"The ultimate tailgate requires the perfect tailgating car, so we took a look at a variety of new cars to determine which ones have factory-installed features to take the drama out of the pre-game party," said Cars.com editor-in-chief Patrick Olsen.
Cars.com's selections were mostly, unsurprisingly, big SUVs. However, the top spot went to the classic 2013 Ram 1500, citing the ability to lower the truck to parking height for easy access to the bed, adjustable tie-down points, the truck bed divider and Uconnect Wi-Fi (for last minute adjustments to fantasy football lineups). Also appearing on the list are the 2013 Ford Flex, the 2013 GMC Acadia and the 2014 Subaru Forester.
