Toyota and Teen Vogue aim to keep young drivers safe

As part of Distracted Driving Awareness Month, organizations across the U.S. are teaming up to raise awareness about the dangers of losing focus while behind the wheel. Toyota and the magazine Teen Vogue are two such groups that are partnering for the cause, as they are launching a safe driving campaign known as "Arrive in Style."

Although cars are constantly evolving to include more safety features, an average of seven teens between the ages of 16 and 19 die every day in auto accidents. Many others are luckier and escape only with minor injuries and some necessary car repair, but the need for better driving practices is still present.

"We are thrilled to partner with Toyota on this important initiative," said Jason Wagenheim, president of Teen Vogue. "Teen Vogue's influential young readers are the perfect ambassadors not only to participate in this initiative, but also to help build awareness and educate their peer groups on the importance of driver safety."

Teens who want to join the cause can make a pledge to "Arrive in Style" and drive safely every time they get behind the wheel. Young girls are even encouraged to take the oath with their parents, who are seen as the major influences on their children's habits.
