October is AAA's Car Care Month, and the organization is using this time to remind motorists to get their cars checked in case auto repair is needed.
AAA reported that it received more than 18 million calls for roadside assistance between January and August of 2012. In order for drivers to eliminate the possibility of problems this winter, motorists should check over their car's battery and charging system, tire tread and pressure, wipers and brakes. Having these tools examined before bad weather hits can help motorists have a safe and affordable driving experience.
"Whether you're expecting cooler temperatures, snow, rain or simply a little less sunshine, regular maintenance and seasonal checkups can help prevent unexpected repair costs in the future," said John Nielsen, director of AAA Automotive Engineering and Repair.
October is widely acknowledged as an important month for getting a tune up, as drivers need to start preparing for inclement weather. Owners are encouraged to listen to their vehicles in order to check for potential problems. Motorists that are unsure about their car's performance can bring their vehicles to an auto repair franchise, where professionals can examine the automobile and improve its performance.
