Auto maintenance can be a bit intimidating, especially for those who can't tell a transmission from a radiator. The non-profit Car Care Council recently posted a new video on its website that helps take some of the guesswork out of the auto maintenance process.

The video, entitled "Auto Service and Repair: What To Expect" provides information on how a car repair shop operates and what the customer can do to find the right service center for their vehicle. It also gives insight on things like the manufacturer's warranty, service certification and consumers' rights if a dispute arises.

"For many consumers, taking their vehicle in for service or repair can cause anxiety and lead them to postpone necessary maintenance and repairs," said Rich White, executive director of the Car Care Council. "Neglecting routine service can cause more expensive repairs later. Our new, candid, no-nonsense video provides tips and advice, and lays out realistic expectations for motorists who need help finding and working with an auto service and repair shop."

Putting off auto maintenance due to fear or anxiety can lead to more expensive car repairs down the road, so those who have questions about how the process should be handled may want to view the video to learn more.
