Movie studios partnering with automotive companies is nothing new, as many action films have negotiated exclusive deals with certain brands for their vehicles - such as the relationship between General Motors and the Transformers series. Add another brand to the list, as BMW has recently announced that it will be featuring heavily in the upcoming "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol."
The fourth installment of the popular film series hits theaters on December 21st, and fans can expect to see Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt behind the wheel of a 6 Series and the concept version of the BMW i8. There will also be a large advertising campaign before the film, including a "self-destructing" sales offer that runs through the end of the year at BMW dealers.
"The film allows us a wonderful opportunity to showcase not only BMW's vision for future vehicles but to highlight some of the newest and most popular cars in our current fleet," said Trudy Hardy manager of marketing communications at BMW of North America. "The synergies between BMW's high-performance vehicles and one of the most action-packed film franchises on the big screen were perfect."
Keeping a car on the road for years may seem like an impossible mission, but it's actually a simple one when drivers keep up with their auto maintenance, including regular oil changes and tune-ups.
