A list of the SUVs to take off-roading

SUVs have always been built with the promise of being great cars for off-roading. It seems now, however, that crossovers and the lines between off-road vehicle and errand cars is becoming very blurry.

Thankfully, MSN Autos has come up with a list of 10 "Real Off-Road Warriors" celebrating the cars that still tackle mountains, rivers and other obstacles with ease.

First up is the Chevy Tahoe, a sturdy 9-passenger vehicle that evolved from the Blazer (talk about a blast from the past!). Its main competition, the Ford Expedition, is also listed.

Jeep, the greatest off-road brand, made the list with its Grand Cherokee and Wrangler models, which have always been favorites for trekking the wilderness.

Also a big name in the auto world, the Range Rover will always be the ultimate luxury SUV. "While the horsey set has long appreciated the Rover's unique combination of British propriety and muddy-road fearlessness, serious adventurers around the world have proved the Range Rover's reputation for off-road excellence just as long," states MSN Autos.

Nissan, an automaker that never really gets the credit it deserves, made the list with the Armada & Xtera. Toyota, Nissan's main competitor, has the 4Runner and Sequoia.

Lastly, there's the Suzuki Grand Vitara... we haven't heard of Suzuki in ages, but it's nice to hear they're still around making cars!
